Geo. Tindell Killed in Auto Accident
George Tindell, 21, of 4587 Joslyn road died in the emergency wasrd at Pontic General hospital Saturday night after he was involved ini a two-car crash on Joslyn Rd. near Brown Rd.
four others were injured in the crash, and Elias J. Sprague, 48, of Giddings road, driver of one of the cars, was arrested bt Oakland county sheriff's deputies and held for investigation of negligent homicide.
Admitted to Pontiac General hospital were Dale Tindell, 17, of 4587 Joslyn road and Robert Ballard, 25, of 4590 Joslyn road. Tindall, brother of the dead youth, is in fair condition with a possible concussion and Ballard is being treated for a broken right leg.
Treated for cuts and bruises and released from the hospital, were Sprague and Edsel M. Dewey, 24, of 2500 Judah road, driver of the car in which the three youths were riding.
Dewey told sheriff's deputies he saw Sprague's car coming at him on the wrong side of the road and could not avoid the collision. Services for george Duane Tindall, 21 were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday from the Farmer-Snover Funeral Home, with William P. Strong officiating. Burial was in Perry Mt. Park Cemetery.
Born in Pontiac, Sep 21, 1928, the son of George A. and Denver Harris Tindall, he attended Pontiac and Lake Orion Schools, graduating from Lake Orion High in 1948.surviving, besides his parents are a sister, Mrs. Donald Pike of Pontiac, and three brothers, Joseph H., Raymond D., and Norman R., all at home, and two nieces in Pontiac.*in the news article, Tindell and Tindall are both used for spellings for his last name.
